Abstract: (2 Views) |
This descriptive-analytical study, drawing on Quranic verses, Ahl al-Bayt traditions, and ziyarat texts, examines the relationship between knowledge, worship, and the authority (wilayah) of the Imam. The main problem is that although the purpose of creation is worship, worship without knowledge lacks spirit and value. According to traditions, knowledge of God is the foundation of servitude, and action without knowledge is not accepted. Since the manner of worship must be received from God, prophethood and imamate are necessary. After knowing God and the Messenger, knowing the Imam and submitting to him are obligatory. The article analyzes five duties of the Muslim ummah toward the Imam: belief in his virtues, obedience, submission, referring all affairs to him, and preferring his opinion. It also shows that the wilayah of Ahl al-Bayt is a condition of tawhid and the spirit of worship, and knowledge of the Imam is the beginning and end of all worship. Finally, knowledge of the Imam of the Time is presented as the complete realization of knowledge of God and deliverance from the death of ignorance; the great trial of occultation is preserving this knowledge and faith. The conclusion is that the purpose of creation and acceptance of worship depend solely on knowledge of the Imam and comprehensive submission to him.
