Sayyid Murtaza Musavi Garmarudi
Abstract:   (22 Views)
Abstract: رجز (Rajaz) is a type of poetry that warriors and champions would recite at the beginning of a battle, and they had several purposes for expressing it. On the day of Ashura, the companions of Hazrat Sayyid al-Shuhada (the Master of Martyrs) and the great man himself went into battle with rajaz verses, which have been narrated in the books of Maqatil (accounts of martyrdom). The present article takes a brief look at these poems and their content.
