								  | The present article has been arranged on the basis of the discourses and notes of the striving scholar, the late Ayatullah ʿAbd al-Ḥusayn Amīnī. Among the debates he had with a group of Sunni opponents regarding Shi‘i commemorations and mourning ceremonies, particular importance was given to the holding of mourning gatherings for Imam Ḥusayn (peace be upon him) and the expression of love by the Shi‘a for the Household of Prophethood through such mourning, especially regarding the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs, Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī (peace be upon them). In his analytical statements, Ayatullah Amīnī drew upon the sayings and reports of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in mourning his son Ḥusayn (peace be upon him), and in this way he profoundly honored and preserved this truth.
This discourse had earlier appeared in 1394 A.H. (1974 C.E.) as part of the book Our Way and Method is the Way and Method of Our Prophet, spanning over 170 pages (in octavo/medium format).
