This article is a criticism and analysis of the book “Crisis and Consolidation in the Formative Period of Shiite Islam” by Dr. Hossein Modarresi Tabatabai. The main focal point of the discussion is as follows: Criticisms of the type of interpretation by the book’s author from traditional and historical texts, relying on part of an occurrence and generalizing it as a view of most of the Shia society, the book of al-Kaafi and the authenticity of its traditions, characteristics of the infallible Imams (a.s.), especially the documentary texts on their Imamat,and doubts about the leadership (Imamate) of certain Imams after the martyrdom of some of the Imams (a.s.). |
