Aspects of the Perfections of Abu al-Faḍl al-Abbas based on His Ziyarat

This article, titled "Manifestations of the Perfections of Hazrat Abul-Fadl al-Abbas (AS) Based on His Ziyarat (Pilgrimage Text)," analyzes the indicators of the faithful personality of Hazrat Abbas (AS). The authors, relying on the Ziyarat attributed to Imam al-Sadiq (AS) and using Quranic verses and narrations from the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), define faith as a concept beyond outward Islam, basing it on knowledge, submission, and action. The most important indicators of Hazrat Abbas's faith emphasized in the Ziyarat are:
1. The Righteous Servant (`Abd al-Salih`): Pure servitude free from any deviation, in accordance with the purpose of human creation.
2. Obedience to God, His Messenger, and the Imam: Unconditional obedience to his Imam of the time, Imam al-Ḥusayn (AS).
3. Insight (`Basirah`): Clarity of heart and vision stemming from the light of faith and divine confirmation.
4. Sacrifice and Support (`Fida` & `I'ana`): Self-sacrifice and struggle in the path of truth, following the example of the early Muslim warriors.
5. Patience and Seeking Reward (`Sabr` & `Ihtisab`): Steadfastness and acceptance of divine decree in the most severe trials, particularly during the event of ‘Ᾱshūrā. The article concludes that these qualities make Hazrat Abbas (AS) a complete model of a true believer, worthy of lofty otherworldly stations, companionship with prophets and the righteous, and the highest divine rewards.
